Finnegan's Jig
Four of DC's best-known veteran folk performers
lend their talents to Finnegan's Jig. Andrea Hoag (fiddle), Jody Marshall
(hammered dulcimer), and Zan McLeod (guitar) will get your toes tapping
to traditional Celtic jigs and reels, and songbird Carey Creed will
weave a spell as she sings contemporary and traditional songs. Jody
Marshall has been performing and teaching hammer dulcimer since 1988
and was a founding member of the popular folk trio, Ironweed. Nominated
for a Wammie as best folk instrumentalist by the Washington Area Music
Association, her performance credits include Corcoran Gallery of Art,
Maryland Renaissance Festival, Kennedy Center, and the White House.
Carey Creed is a singer/songwriter whose folk- and jazz-inspired music
can bring your heart and mind to a better place through poetry, pathos
and humor--with a little backbeat. She was nominated for a 2007 Wammie
for best folk contemporary vocalist. Andrea Hoag is one of North America's
foremost performers of traditional Swedish music, and is a highly respected
fiddler in several American, English, and Celtic styles. Zan McLeod
is one of the most talented accompanists, producers, and arrangers in
the world of Irish music. He tours and records with Irish musicians
throughout the nation and abroad. Both Andrea and Zan were 2007 Wammie
nominees for folk traditional instrumentalist.
