Grant Guidelines

Mini Grants --Grants up to $350. -- Mini Grants are considered and awarded throughout the year.  They are usually granted for one-time or emergency needs. To apply, please fill out the worksheet and fax it to Stephanie Deutsch at (202) 547-6333 or mail it to the Foundation office at
419 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003.

Fall and Spring Grants - Grants up to $2,500. -- Twice a year, in May and November, we award grants for more substantial projects. On occasion, we may award more than $2,500 for projects of particular merit.

To apply for a grant, please send us 6 copies of the following:

• Grant Application Cover Sheet
• Click here to print the application cover sheet.
• Proposal of no more than 3 pages explaining the goals and anticipated outcomes of the project.
• Financial statement for your organization and a detailed budget for the project. Please indicate how you will use a grant from us and your other sources of funding.
• Names of members of your Board of Directors, if applicable, and other primary participants.
• You may also include one copy of supporting documents such as brochures, newspaper articles, etc.

Mail or deliver the grant application packet to the Foundation office at

• Application Deadline for Fall Grants 5pm Friday, September 26, 2008*, Fall grants will be awarded in late November 2008.
• Application Deadline for Spring Grants 5pm Friday, March 28, 2008*, Spring grants will be awarded in late May 2008.
  *no applications will be accepted after the deadlines

Arnold F. Keller, Jr., Award: This $10,000 award, made annually at the Capitol Hill Community Achievement Awards Dinner in May, recognizes projects or organizations making significant contributions to the Capitol Hill community. To be considered for this award, please submit a Letter of Inquiry describing how this award would benefit your project or organization. 

Deadline for Letter of Inquiry: 5pm Friday, September 26, 2008. The recipient of the Arnold F. Keller Award will be announced in late November 2008.
