About Community Grants

The Capitol Hill Community Foundation awards grants to support programs and projects that benefit the residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The grants are given to non-profit organizations and to other neighborhood groups.

Grants are awarded in the following areas:

  • Children's education, programs in schools as well as after school tutoring and mentoring
  • Social Services
  • Arts, culture, and recreation for children and adults
  • Enhancement of the physical environment

The Foundation tries to maintain flexibility in its grant giving priorities to meet the changing needs of the community. In general, however, the Foundation awards grants to:

  • Projects with specific goals and outcomes
  • Projects with a broad reach in the Capitol Hill neighborhood
