In 2001 the Foundation launched the Ruth Ann Overbeck Capitol Hill History Project, an all-volunteer organization that tape records oral histories from longtime residents and former residents of the Hill, with the goal of creating “a permanent, accessible, ongoing record of the people and events that have shaped our community.” Named for the late Capitol Hill historian and preservationist Ruth Ann Overbeck, the highly successful project also sponsors a lecture series on local history.
